Sevierville city officials meeting Monday

$233,000 truck, management of golf club food and drink operations on agenda
Sep. 16, 2013 @ 09:59 AM
Purchase of a new garbage truck is among the top items on the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

The board will look at buying a new truck for $233,563, according to the agenda.

It meets at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center.

Also Monday, the board will consider a management agreement for the Sevierville Golf Club food and beverage operations. The PBA recently turned over management of the golf course to the city, but it still oversees the restaurant.

A memorandum to the board explains that the city had applied for a liquor license for the restaurant, which serves alcohol, but was informed the state wouldn’t issue the license to the city because it was not a corporation. Because of that, the city is asking the PBA to continue overseeing the club under the proposed management agreement.

Other times up for consideration include:

n Second reading of an ordinance closing and abandoning a right of way on Kyker Ferry Road, near Northview Academy

n A memorandum of understanding with TDOT for a traffic signal to be placed at Highway 66 and Swaggerty Road to serve the academy

n Purchase of Bermuda fertilizer

n Closure of part of Church Street for the First Baptist Church Fall Festival on Oct. 31

n Closure of a portion of Old Douglas Dam Road for the Robert Tino event Oct. 5-6 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
