A Lifestar helicopter flew a Sevierville man to UT Medical Center after he was involved in a head-on collision at the intersection of Dolly Parton Parkway and Veterans Boulevard Monday morning.

Sevierville Police Department officers responded to the scene around 9:20 a.m. Department spokesman Bob Stahlke said 44-year-old Grant Scott was driving eastbound on Dolly Parton Parkway approaching Veterans Boulevard, while 61-year-old Paula Stott, of Sevierville, was traveling westbound on Dolly Parton, trying to turn left onto Veterans.

“The two vehicles collided in the intersection,” Stahlke said.

Scott had to be extricated from his 1994 Honda Civic, then transported to UT Medical Center via helicopter with injuries to his head and other unknown injuries, Stahlke said.

Stott, who was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, an SUV, was taken to LeConte Medical Center by the Sevier County Ambulance Service.

“Stott’s injuries did not appear to be serious,” Stahlke said.

Stahlke said the report did not indicate which driver was at fault.
