The planned traffic light at the entrance to Northview Academy will be on its way to becoming a reality if the Board of Mayor and Aldermen votes Monday to approve the project Monday night.

The cost, about $129,000, will be divided among the city, county and the county school system. The Tennessee Department of Transportation will install the light.

Northview Academy opened this year. The light is expected to help people coming from the school property turn back onto Highway 66, especially those trying to turn left onto the busy highway during the morning rush.

The board meets at 6 p.m. Monday in the Civic Center.

Other items on the agenda include:

n Retiring K-9 officer Bliksem and transferring ownership to Lt. Eddie Helton

n Purchasing a one-acre tract of property at 915 Park Road for $90,000

n Renewal of Tree City USA status
