At least one injured in shooting
Sheriff's deputies were investigating a reported shooting on Estates Drive Wednesday evening.
Deputies and ambulance personnel responded to the scene at about 6:15 p.m., and took one male patient from the house as of about 6:30 p.m.
"It appears at this point he has been shot more than one time," Capt. Michael Hodges told The Mountain Press. He said he could not confirm the man's condition at that time.
Officers had first surrounded the house while medical personnel waited because it was not immediately clear if the shooter was still present or had fled.
Two people who told officers they had knowledge of the circumstances came to the sheriff's office shortly after the incident was reported, Hodges said.
Deputies were just starting their investigation at press time; no further information was available.
