Grand jury hands down indictments

SEVIERVILLE —The Sevier County grand jury met recently to review allegations in dozens of different charges.

A grand jury is a panel of randomly selected county residents who meet in private to review criminal allegations to determine whether there is enough evidence to justify proceeding with a trial. It does not determine guilt or innocence.

A new grand jury is selected every two months and meets at that time to review allegations.

Names that are listed more than once in the list of indictments represent people who faced multiple indictments.

The latest grand jury returned the following indictments:

 Robert Thomas Adams — forgery involving $60,000 or more

 Dhia Adan Al Fatlany — prohibited weapon

 Michael Alan Baio — theft of property worth $1,000 to $10,000

 Ruben Arroyo — DUI

 Jason Joseph Biljan — fourth count of DUI, open container, driving while license suspended, failure to obey traffic control devices, financial responsibility law and speeding

 Misty Kay Boland — DUI, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and driving while license suspended

 Scott William Boyd — first count of DUI, implied consent and financial responsibility law

 Wade E. Brady — aggravated burglary, four counts of burglary, three counts of theft up to $500 and four counts of theft of $1,000 to $10,000
